Full Design & Installation of LV Distribution & Fire Alarm of Two New Vehicle Inspection Units

Smart Fleet Solutions is a vast 36-acre site with a storage capacity for 4,500 vehicles. The facility includes vehicle inspections, refurbishment and repair, expert valet service, photo studio, storage, and vehicle reporting.

One Way was appointed for the electrical design and installation of two new purpose-built units housing a vehicle inspection line and vehicle image studio, also an extension to the existing bodywork repair workshop and refurbishment of offices. The two units and extension covered 2564m² in floor area.

While the main aim was to install power supplies for the clients’ equipment and to sufficiently light the work areas, cutting running costs was also high on the agenda. One Way achieved this by installing presence detectors to lighting in all areas along with daylight sensors to minimise the misuse of lighting. An addressable fire detection system was installed linking the two new buildings to provide accurate locations of devices in a fire condition. The HV transformer was upgraded from 500kVA to 800kVA.
