It might be the end of 2020 and with much to think about and many businesses preparing for the next year, ensuring that electrical safety is at the top of the list of priorities, will help 2021 to run smoothly. Safety has never been more important for companies, with new rules to adjust too and government guidelines likely to remain in place for some time, getting an EICR in Stoke conducted is one thing off the list.
What is An EICR?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is conducted by our Stoke based electricians and is a document that is produced following an assessment of the electricals. Our commercial and industrial specialists are qualified to carry these out on behalf of businesses and can complete them as often as is required, in accordance with the laws that govern each specific industry. Industrial sites are recommended to have an EICR carried out at least once every three years while most other businesses should have one every five years.
What is Covered?
When our engineers carry out an EICR in Stoke, there is a three-pronged approach to the assessment. Firstly, a visual inspection is carried out where our contractors will highlight any broken devices, exposed wires or faulty that can be seen with the naked eye. Secondly, a dead test is carried out, which look for badly connected conductors, insulation resistance levels around conductors and polarity which assures the connections are in the right sequence. Finally, live testing is needed which consists of earth fault loop impedance testing and RCD testing. After all of this has been assessed, we will draw up a report which will detail the findings and make suggestions for repairs if necessary.
